Well:
If my current hatch works out I might have a couple of extras, but, I am Day+1 and no pips on 9 eggs....
Thank you but I think @dheltzel has me taken care of.

So today is day one I think for Freckle my spangled bantam broody. Will it be 21 days do you think?
Here is the truth about fresh vs store bought.
You mean country people keep saying it is a stronger taste. STOP IT!!!!! It isn't a positive sounding thing! Second, fertilized = gross. Don't flaunt the roosters.
Third, I know that the big companies have to meet certain cleanliness regulations. I still would rather my own eggs over someone else's. When I got my ducks, I couldn't eat the eggs for a while because I didn't hatch her, and she seemed "contaminated" at first.
I grew up around farms and farmers and know where food comes from, but so many people just don't. Corporate farms make money by insulating their consumers from their producers, they really don't want either group to understand the other because being the middleman/broker is their "secret sauce" that keeps them in business.
Let's face it, for most people, knowing too much about their food just makes them nervous. Remember the news stories about rodent and insect parts and.or feces in our food? Haven't heard many of those recently, at least in the mainstream media. I think the newspeople figures out that some "news" is just unwelcome. Our food supply is nasty, dirty and often unsafe in some way, yet we survive eating the stuff.
Sorry lol yesterday marked her first 24 hours sitting on eggs. I meant does it take 21 days for Bantams to hatch? I found different threads that said possible 19?
Hello to all newbies from the last 2 years..
To the old timers. Hello, been awhile.
I'm trying to think where I put all my notes before my last move. I know that my D'uccle eggs were set a day later than my LF breeds but hatched a day sooner. The D'uccle chicks pipped/zipped in a few hours. My silkies were slower. But, I would say be prepared for 18 -- lockdown as usual, and don't freak if a couple days more. You will see some rocking and rolling.
I had some that were brought to me partially incubated by a broody hen (1 unintentionally). So I was guessing dates on a few based on development. As you know, sometimes eggs are developing in the bator and they still look different from one another, until a certain point. Anyway, with one I was a tad late and heard chirping and had to setup a hatcher quick. It had externally pipped. All was well, it was fine-- no intervention.
