I hope it's going to be a beautiful day today. I'm so tired of all the rain! So far it's nice out. The Seramas are enjoying some time out on the grass today in the little tractor and Mister was strutting his stuff first thing :)

WARNING RANT INCOMING!

I am about to scream or rip someone's head off I just know it. I can't find a CPT that's available or willing or will call me back, at all!!! :barnie:he:rant How the heck am I supposed to go to a poultry show if no one will test my birds?

Literally I have had it up to here with the stupid state database search. Not only have I called all of the 3 people in my county (apparently there's only three, not a huge surprise but still). One of which happens to live literally 5 minutes down the road from me, of course god forbid he calls me back. :mad: So now I'm working down the Lancaster county list since according to the database there's no CPTs in Chester or Montgomery Counties which is buuuull utter buuulll there's no way that those two counties (One of which has a freaking Poultry 4H Club!) doesn't have any CPTs. No way.

Needless to say. I have printed out the lists for York, Lancaster, and the lone person in Bucks counties. I'm gonna go down them one by one. I even emailed Larry Clionsky who's our District head for the Ameraucana Breeders Club to see who he uses since he's not too terribly far away.

I hope I find someone. I really do. Because if I don't I'm gonna be more than a little upset. Thing that gets me is, people get these licences and then don't do what they're supposed to do with them. Like it's understandable if their busy but not calling people back??? Or at least if you're not going to be doing it anymore at least ask Harrisburg to take you off the database or put a note on it. (Or ya know at least actually make sure your phone number is on the dang database!!!)

The one lady I called said for me to talk to Harrisburg if I'm having trouble finding someone, and I know for a fact that all their going to tell me is to literally go onto the database and check a different county....

Uggggghhhh. Sorry sorry rant over, I just am really super upset because of this. I'm gonna go call the next person on the list. Ugh. :th
 
My cousin is a CPT in MD and only does 4-H kids birds because she has a full time job and is kept very busy just with the kid's requests. I think she travels a lot because there are not many CPT's in MD, at least not many that will travel much. It's a pretty thankless job, IMO. It certainly doesn't pay well and you probably get a lot of irate people making demands on your time, especially at "crunch time", right before a major show.

Oh I don't doubt it. It's just really irksome that it's so difficult to try and find one. Thankfully my leads are starting to get better. Sorta.

Seems like you should plan to take the classes and get certified. Probably @LeBlackbird too.
I would . . . but I really, really, don't like needles.
 
An incredible wicked storm just blew through here. The rain was whopping across the yard in bands, the yard is totally flooded and I thought the trees would small in half! Power is out so I'm about to have 3 newly hatched quail residing in my bra :oops: It's been out for about 20 minutes so far. The storm is gone but I think a transformer blew. The power surged quickly 3 times before it finally went out completely. Most of my brooder babies seem fine for now, just worried about the little quail.
 
Ours went out a few times. The longest I knew about was about 10 minutes. I finally took a nap, so I don’t really know if it was for a longer period.
The yard is a mess. It looks like a tornado went through!
