Welcome from Cambria county! I would allow chicks in the garden but not the big girls. They'd destroy it all I think lol

My rhode islands (8 of em all right @ 6months) seem to be very easy "grazers", but right now the garden is only a few inches high (corn an beans) and im afraid theyll eat my plants till theyre bigger...

Welcome to the thread and BYC!

As far as chickens in the garden... only allow them if your important plants are protected with mesh or fence. They can strip a patch pretty quickly. Young plants would be gone in first few hours.
I have seen people put long hoops over their rows of plants and allow the birds in between the rows. They are good at weeding!

@dheltzel @Auroradream26 What medication do you guys drop on your flock again for lice and mites? I promise I’ll write it down this time!

I made a dip for them that worked really well. I believe it was 2oz for 5 gallons of water? That was 2 weeks ago and I haven't seen a single bug on them since. Even lice eggs that hatched, the babies were killed off from the remaining residue.

Great! That’s the stuff I have on hand. Do you dip them at night when they go to roost? Just grab them, and dip them up to their butts? Thanks for the info.
