That's awesome :) My daughter didn't start until Brownies. She's a cadette now. She's been in it longer than I ever was lol. We have to do cookie rally tomorrow evening but we're not allowed to start selling until Friday.

I was never a Girl Scout, if you’d met me when I was young, this would be evident. 2 of my daughters have been Girl Scouts and I just can’t say enough about the organization. DD2’s troop raised enough funds to go to Europe her Senior Year of High School. DD3 has just started High School and will be working on her Gold Award.

GD & her momma,( my youngest daughter), are having a good time learning what it is all about this year. My daughter is a troop mom/helper..i forget what they call themselves anymore, haha, so she is all new to this too.
My girls didn't have time for Girl scouts because of everything else they were into..band, basketball, ..their biggest priority was getting the best grades possible.

I was a total tom-boy growing up. I remember my mom & grandma begging me to just "try-on" a dress every now and then..noway, nope..not happening! hahaha...anyway, they were surprised when I wanted to be a part of the whole "girl" scout thing.
I liked it because we could pick what badge we wanted to work on, I don't know how it is now, so I did the camping, hunting, horseback riding..you know, that kind of stuff,
Plus meeting different people was very good for me, we are all different, but really want the same things mostly...companionship, friends, acceptance..etc..

GD has a site with her own code on it, they were allowed to sell them early because of this..somehow. I don't know the inner-workings of it all..have a hard enough time remembering what I am told;)...haha
I hope they stay with it all, the doors to many different experiences would open up for them both.
So awesome raising that much money/funds to be able to take trips of that magnitude!! If the leaders do have it "together", the possibilities are endless...most people are willing to give to these types organizations knowing that it for kids.

I'm a bit late to the party but still want to wish everyone a happy New Year!

Thinking of some of our members we haven't heard from in a while and of course Stake... still missing his posts. Hoping all who maybe don't post anymore at least check in and know they are thought of.

Best of luck to everyone in the coming year. We have to find some day olds for a few determined broodies in the very near future. Would use our own eggs but often they are too cold by the time we gather in the evening and we don't have anyone separated out yet...

Happy New Year to you!..Better late than never!!:hugs
I am happy there are still people here that are familiar to me...after being away for so long.
I do miss the people I met when I first signed on...they were very chatty, funny & extremely willing to help, even if it meant actually meeting you and lending a physical hand.
Life happens though..don't we all know all too well and this is one of the first things that gets laid to the side when we don't have the time, energy..etc., even though it is something enjoyable.
I hope they are all doing well, maybe they will pop-in again one day, hopefully I will still be here to say Hello.
I hope more new PA peeps get into the talkative groove here:caf..waiting for some of these peepers to open-up:oops:..hahaha, I know how nervous I was when first getting here...didn't want to sound like a goof..too late for that!:p
It has been awesome meeting people here, in just type & in person.
You are all awesome & thank you for all the great feed back, good & critical, it has all taught me a lot about animal husbandry & myself.
Sorry for the novel peeps...you know how long-winded these keys can get.:duc
Still recovering from the holidays & giving myself some down time:th.

I'm counting down the days till baby goats come. First on is due jan 12th.
Puppies are growing. Just getting tired of people flagging my post on Craigslist I have for them. And I plainly say will not be ready till Jan 26th. Grrr.
I need to find other places to post the puppies.

They only half read..it is very annoying!
You put ALL the info in the ad & they still ask questions that are answered in the ad..grrrrr is right!
Have you tried any of the "puppy" sites to sell?...they do cost extra, but it gets out to more people..larger areas.
We also used my daughters Facebook..Oh, and the vets office posted on their Facebook site.
That helps to show that the pups are legit & cared for.."professionally"..even though WE know how to & do administer the same wormer & shots, but anyway, people like to see "vets" involved.
You have a lot more pups than we did, maybe worth the extra cost to get the info out there...just throwing ideas at you.:D
**They are adorable by the way:love
