I am thinking of making an incubator. The heating element in my old one still works great. Just the Styrofoam body is what is going and not keepong humidity. Any ideas?

Find an old cooler and start adapting it... work great for incubators and should fix the humidity loss problem.

I have found the heaters in the styrofoam incubators to be their weakest feature, they are not powerful enough to keep the temp stable. Also, I incubate at very low humidity (under 30% RH), so I rarely add water and welcome any humidity leaks.
IMO, the best small incubator is the GQF Genesis. I get them from Cutlers Supply to save a little money. There are some newer ones that sound promising, but I have not bought any small incubators since I bought a Dickey and decided cabinet incubators are the way to go.

Wow. I just checked the $$ of incubators at TSC. Wow. I'll just hope that one of the girls goes broody this spring. Wow. Not a practical thing for my backyard flock.
