Of course, the chain saw broke down during the process. At least we have most of the trees taken care of. I'm hoping to have all the wall and doors up and painted by this weekend, because I'll be on a business trip next weekend and then it will be thanksgiving.Hi everyone! I've been on byc for years but never posted to the state thread. I'm in Greenville (by Ohio, about halfway between Erie and Pittsburgh). I'm looking to adopt a NICE rooster who will be a pet here. We have 12 hens, ducks and geese. Just rehomed our rooster (to the woman he came from who basically has a chicken retirement home) because he started charging me and the kids. Over the years we have had two very sweet pet roos, one a Brahma "Nigel" and another a Cochin "Mr. Rooster ". I'd really like another well mannered guy for our flock. Craigslist posting has only turned up roosters an hour away. Is there anyone local who has a nice extra roo that needs a good home?
I know I'm more than an hour away (2 or 3) but I have several very well mannered sweet guys who could use a good home. I have to cut my flock size down further than I wanted to. My DH was just laid off today so extra boys have to move out or make the trip to the freezer.
I'm a stay at home mom and can't drive 2 little ones all over the state for a rooster pick up. I really hope things work out and you find homes for them. I have had luck in the past selling nice roosters to people who want them (oh the irony) so maybe that's an idea? Thanks for replying though
