Something got my 1 young rooster. He was one I hatched out this year. he was either an olive egger or Copper Marron. He was so big and Beautiful.
Sorry to hear that, was he free ranging or in the coop yard? We had a fox get 2 birds this summer but it moved on so either the dogs scared it off or something else happened to it. Frustrating to deal with.

I have been dying from allergies the past few nights. Tonight I realized at 10:30 that the comforter wasn’t on the bed yet, and I still hadn’t washed the dog. If I had washed the dog before changing the bed Saturday, I could have saved a lot of time and water on laundry.
Of course he wanted to go outside to get away from mean ol’ Momma afterwards. :caf :caf Ten minutes later he was still pouting. Pooooor puppy. He’s been coaxed in, and we are snuggled into bed.
This story is for your amusement. If washing a dog late at night isn’t amusing, you’ve never done it.

Thanks for the offer of eggs but I do not have an incubator and my broodie is no more. This is the longest dry spell I've had. I'll think of something. Either replace or increase the flock.

Sorry to hear about the allergy flare but glad you seem to have gotten ahead of it, even if the pooch didn't want to participate in his part of the process,

Mindy had a flare up of skin irritation and ear infection so she is back on steroids and getting bathed twice a week. She is ok with the bath and loves the actual scrubbing part and the even better blow dryer part.... Dillon wants to skip the whole soap and water thing and just go to the blow dryer part. He takes it as a personal affront to be expected to be clean and, (gasp!!) Actually smell good!:lau

My daughter's friend from school lost her flock of chickens to a fox. Only one survivor, and we took that one in with our flock. The new chicken is doing great, but I feel bad for the little girl who now doesn't have any chickens.

Are you sure they aren't eating the eggs?
