I never saw rats--but a couple of years ago, there were tiny footprints in the snow and holes tunneling around my run and coop. got rid of mine by filling all holes with dry ice at sunset and covering the holds with dirt and bricks. It took three attempts and they were gone. Poor little guy. He can't help being a rat!
Absolutely! They multiply like crazy and one means 10+ more to go.
I have a lot of Welbars hatching now, and should have them every week for the next few months. The parents are laying awesome now, one day I got 12 eggs from the 13 hens, but usually more like 8 or 9.
