I need to be clear! Internet /home school isn’t optional for Kindergarteners, right? ‘Cause she’s not even reading or read to. I did check online, and it didn’t say “optional.”

It's not optional for our school district, it's required. My son has to record when he read and then upload the video, so teacher can help him. he also has to take pictures of his writing. he has 3 online meetings per week with his teacher. It's not easy for a kindergartener.

I’ve looked up what she’s supposed to know before first grade. One thing we will work on today, but she seems to be okay as long as I keep up the reading here. I bought another funny book for Easter. I can’t wait to read it! Be Quiet! by Ryan T. Higgins. The guy is hysterical! He also has chickens, and might be on BYC.

It’s been twenty years since I helped move koi outside. Floating the bag works inside though, and sounds good for putting them outside.

Hi, just wanted to shout out as a new Pennsylvanian on this thread. Getting my very first chicks in a few weeks (I hope) via mailorder, as all the local places wouldn't even return my calls. I am hoping to end up with 3-4 hens to free range (during the day) in my suburban, fenced in backyard. I am a bit concerned about getting live chicks mail order -- my post office has a habit of losing packages, even in the best of times (and these are closer to "the worst of times.")

As long as you float the fish and equalize the temperatures in the bag and the pond you should be fine.

Not too cold, goldfish are cold water fish and adapt easily to cooler temps. What can kill them is ammonia or CO2 building up in the bag during transfer. I would start adding small amounts of pool water to the bag immediately. Might be better to dump the bag into a bucket an use a cup to add maybe 10% new water every 10 to 15 minutes. When the amount in the bucket is tripled, net the fish and move them to the pond, allowing them to swim out of the net (don't drop them from above).

I am so stinkin mad about this lockdown and the weather. I really want to get some of Dennis's chicks but not sure how "essential" that travel would be. Not that they are stopping us and "checking our papers". Yet. And the weather has contributed to the lack of run expansion. It will happen, just when, I am not sure. BUT, on the good news side of things, Mabel is still laying at 6 years old! Got 4 eggs total yesterday and 5 the day before. Not really sure who laid the dark brown one.
