Someone stole eggs from my box. Thank goodness there was no money in there because they would have taken it too.

I enjoy sharing my eggs with the community. I don’t ask a lot for my eggs. Just enough to help cover feed cost. I have had a dozen or two taken before. But nothing like today. They even had the money tin moved. Doors was not latched shut.

This is what they took. Not even a dozen. 😔

Sorry this happened. The only thing I can say is I hope they really needed those eggs to feed their family and just not an @$%#@

Out of curiosity, do most people in this thread process their own meat chickens or take them to a butcher/processing facility? I'd love to raise meat chickens/turkeys, but the actual processing part has always scared me, lol
We do our own. We process anywhere from 125-175 a year, that is from the breed we raise and it's for our own use. These are not broilers they are a heritage breed. Cockerels are 3-5 lbs and pullets are 2-4 lbs most times. Bantams are smaller.

Does anyone in SE PA have a flock including some Polish, and a wish to have one more? I have a lovely 3 month old pullet buff lace polish. I thought she was sick (perhaps Cocci) and started treating her. But then realized that she was just sad because of being ostracized. Now she is all alone in a separate coop. She is so sweet but my big strong Ameraucanas from Dennis will not put up with a half blind crested puffball.

Aw, poor girl. Wish you were closer. My Nigel would probably love a girlfriend like him. He's the only adult polish I have right now. I can't count the 3 babies in the brooder yet lol
