So have been working on yard clean up since our snow pack finally melted and we had a stretch of dry weather (until today)
No job can be done without supervision, of course...

We have a bit of a mystery, we got
'green egg layer pullets' from RK for a broody, and they all are showing these crests...not sure what breed mix they would be.

The creast with green eggs probably means there is some cream created legbar in the mix.

Egg cartons? Somehow, I am appalled to see (EMPTY) new ones for 59 cents and up! Other than asking for donations, where do you guys get yours?
I never had so many eggs that I need to sell, but I posted on Nextdoor to see if I needed a permit and got 13 private messages wanting eggs! One person just drove a half an hour to my home! It was this picture of course--everyone wants eggs out of Dennis' Welbars and Legbars!

I have people giving me egg cartons all the time. I have so many, some have been stored in "less that ideal" conditions and are probably no longer usable. Put the word out to friends and neighbors and you will soon have hundreds.

Legbars are better layers than ameraucanas, so these will lay better than common eater eggers. Meyer has them list as lakeshore eggers, who don’t have the cute fluffy cheeks but lay better.

That’s fast! I have been thinking about getting ducks, but had nothing done yet.
You should consider making a duck pen like this: http://welbars.com/lib/exe/fetch.php?media=ducks:bantam_duck_pen.pdf
I have 3 of them now and they are working really well. Easy to clean (and longer between cleanings), no mud, swimming pool that they really enjoy, cleaner eggs, up high so they birds seem less skittish to me, perfect predator protection . . .
The only problem is they are best suited for lightweight ducks, because the wire floors are hard on the feet of heavy breeds. I have only kept bantams in these, but I think they would work for the lightweight layer breeds also, esp if you looked for sturdy, coated wire.
Of course, I love my bantam breeds - Australian Spotted and Miniature Silver Appleyards.

Hey, if you don’t have enough eggs for all those customers, can you send some my way? I have ads on Craigslist and haven’t had a call for weeks, I figured it’s the media ā€œCOVID from backyard eggsā€ junk. Seriously, please PM me, and I will also check out Nextdoor. Don’t know what’s wrong on Craigslist.
