now more!!! I could look it up online, but I have soooo found it more productive to ask someone who does it!! Take incubation for instance! lol i forget if you popped in the thread I started https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/704328/diary-notes-air-cell-detatched-shipped-eggs but you would laugh at how much research I did only to find I knew nothing! lmao!

can a small coop and covered run cage work?you do not need a run for quail, or a tall cage, they pop straight up when startled and many break necks if they can get the momentum so i keep cages low.

What size fencing wire works for them?small as you can get, quail are escape artist and very hard to catch

will they roost at night and go in like chickens so I can close them up so the weazels dont get them?never had any roost, I keep them in a wire bottom cage with a removable pan under it, and a small platform area with a box of sand for them to get off the wire

do they have any personality like a few of my chickens have? just praying you say no so I dont befriend them!mine stay on the wild side. a few will calm down when picked up but most do not.
I can only answer by what works for me, just like chickens everyone seems to have different ways of doing things.
as far as detached air cells go i never have much luck with those.

anybody else with quail jump in here, Things like controlling stink, find myself constantly cleaning them out, no matter what i do.....they stink...

So excited. Just bought a young roo for my calico silkie pullet. He isn't as pretty as her, but I am hoping they make some lovely babies!!

<------ That is her.
