I had a good weekend. The public server I play on started running the Blood Moon mod as of Friday night. It really makes being out after dark a challenge again. The first "night" I ran into some giants. No big deal, a few hits with a sword takes care of them and they don't fight back. Next "night" I ran into a couple of blazes. Again, no big deal since I have a lot of experience with them.

The third night. Oh wow. I stumbled across a group of super-fast zombies wearing diamond armor and carrying swords. Barely got out with my skin intact by running into a lake and swimming to get far enough ahead of them so I could teleport home.

By Sunday some folks were complaining that it made traveling at night too hard. Someone had a zombie with a fire-sword spawn in his XP farm.

Good times.

I decided to make an army of named, armed zombies in Creative the other day. Then I realized I should make a little dystopian bunker for some villagers to hide out in. I set them up with doors so they could have a self-sustaining population, a chicken coop for eggs, a medical bay, and a storage room.

Did I mention the self-sustaining population? I started out with four villagers. Now I have... slightly more than four. I think I need to break a few of the doors and maybe make this place bigger.

Edit: The population doubled while I was writing this. I've broken the doors and am upgrading the building.

Making some shops now, I think. I was using redstone lamps, but now I'm switching to torches. This is the nasty part of town; built long after they lost their knowledge of electricity. The shops have iron bars and doors to keep zombies out, because sometimes they make it into this area.
