Hardcore is fun.. Though I am scared when I hear a spider or zombie, it's fun.

Is anyone familiar with the changes in 1.5.1? Over the weekend on the PvP server I've been on I came across a village on one of my long range recon patrols. Someone had starting building onto it but then abandoned it, leaving no villagers behind.

I claimed it as an outpost (the server uses towny) and our mayor claimed up the entire area around it for our town.

Since there's been a history of people griefing towns by dumping lava on them I walled off the entire area and put a glass block roof over the whole enchilada (we have towny settings set to strangers can't open doors and gates and can't destroy blocks to gain access).

After repairing damage and putting doors back on the buildings we moved in some villagers to kickstart the village again (paid users can throw regular eggs at mobs to create spawn eggs).

Now my question, for some reason the villagers aren't reproducing. We can move in as many as we want but no luck on them adding more on their own. According to the wiki villagers will spawn as long as they have "transparent" blocks above them. Glass blocks have always been considered "transparent".

A second village we have with walls but no roof has the villagers making like bunnies.

Anyone know if glass blocks aren't considered transparent anymore? Nothing in the release notes.

As I recall, villagers only reproduce if there are more wooden doors than villagers in the area. I could be mistaken, though.

We have plenty of doors so unfortunately that's not it.

I just had an "As Minecraft Turns" moment in my village that's spawning villagers like crazy.

Two villagers "talking" to each other. One (obviously the male of the pair) keeps showing hearts. Other doesn't respond. This goes on for quite a few seconds before the other (the female) walks away. Male goes off about ten blocks, turns his back, and I swear was sulking. Shortly after the female hooks up with another villager (a priest of all things) and spawns a kid.

I swear, you can write dialog to this stuff if you wait around long enough.

I downloaded the mutant enderman mod in hardcore mode... Spawned it... Fought it... Killed it... NEVER AGAIN

Ohh gosh.. That must have been scary. I don't like regular endermen (except my pet enderman who lives in my creative house, of course.), let alone mutant ones.

Ender dragon mod (you can spawn and ride it)

Villager mods (the villagers have better cultures and actually do stuff)
That's about it.

I also got a crazy idea... what if I built a bunch of small houses with every block? (house of butter, a house of wood, etc,etc)
