Don't worry, peoples. There are plausible, scientific explanations for any mysterious thing you see.

Cobblestone you never placed? Probably a dungeon. A creepy guy named Herobr1ne chasing you on a public server? Probably a player who likes to troll people. Try being calm and Mythbuster-y before you stat panicking.

That said, the Herobrine myths have occasionally made me twitchy too.

Herobrine doesn't exist. There's a long explaination on the company's website. I can't remember the whole thing (and am too lazy to search for it) but I think it started as a joke tweet from one of the developers that took on a life of it's own. There is no plan to add it into the regular game but people have created mods for it.

I'm glad we could reassure you a bit.

No sheep? That's a problem. I've found they're pretty common in swamp or plains biomes, do you have any of those nearby?

I'm not sure if there are swamps nearby, but I'm currently living in a village in the plains. I'll hunt for them next time I'm on. I also heard they are common in the snow biome.

I SWEAR MY FRIEND DR_TWIG AND I JUST SAW HEROBRINE. We found an unfinished book that says: "Only God can help you now." And we saw him standing in our dungeon...

HEROBRINE has always reminded me of slenderman.

We should all create hardcore worlds and try to survive. I bet we'd all learn a lot.

I have already i have like 5... had to delete most of them for memory : ( i still have a diamond pick in the remaining one) i play on survival on normal. (unless i want to build some random thing in creative then i play on peaceful) the only reason i don't play on hard is because the zombies break down doors and it is super annoying.

RANDOM FACT: between a villager and a door a zombie will go for a door. weird huh...

herobrine may have been real. look at the update thing. it always says "removed herobrine".

The "removed Herobrine" note is a joke, not a real part of the update. As you may know, the Minecraft creators have a sense of humor.

turn your game on easy. wait all night w/ a barricaded door wait til morning go outside kill every spider you see (they aren't hostile in the day unless you attack) and turn the string into wool w/ the 2x2 square of string.

oh, and run away from every creeper you see. unless you can charge at them and actually kill them like some youtubers.

RANDOM STORY: the creeper came over the hill:
so my friend was over and we were playn' minecraft.
we were on different worlds because LAN servers weren't working.
I was climbing up a hill {in a world I had full iron tools and armor (I also had one diamond)} then a creeper just walked over the hill
FIRST REACTION hit it w/ a giant spoon/shovel *face palm*
Then my friend (a noob) kept yelling "your gonna die your gonna die" an started laughing.
I on the other hand knew I wasn't going to die. (even if it did explode i had full iron)
so i ran up the hill w/ my sword out and charged right before it exploded i killed it.
