People Who Invite Themselves Over

ohh god i hate that when that happends when people do that.... if its one of my mates that's fine lol cause i do it to them myself but ... i do have this girl who i used to be friendly with and i thought she was mature but going with the group to japan with her made me realise she's not as mature as i thought, she always had invited herself over and is always asking at school if i can drop her off at the train station.

To avoid her asking me... i always either say, i'm not heading that way or....most recently... i don't have enough petrol to go to the train station and then get home

*sighs* why are there people like that??

If a situation like that comes up, I flat out tell them the truth. I've never regretted it yet.

My friends and I all extend the curtesy of calling one another before dropping in on each other.

I can hear someone coming up my driveway before I can see them, and if we aren't expecting company I meet them at the end of the driveway with a pistol on my hip to ask them what I can help them with.

This includes the few times that a sheriff has come up looking for an address that they can't find.

Call me redneck, mean, whatever...

You sound like me, Lee! I cant stand people who don't think my closed driveway gate is an obstacle and just barrel up to the porch unannounced. I'm going to have to get a real lock for that thing some day.

In the old days in Europe, everyone had a date and time that they would be "receiving". If someone wanted to visit, you would tell them that you are receiving on__ at __time. This way, all your visits were wrapped up into a 2 hour timeframe on a specified date weekly.
Worked for them!

What about the relatives? My MIL called and asked what days would be good for her to come for the holidays. I said 12/19-12/28. She calls back later and says it is cheaper to travel on certain days so she is coming the 18 thru the 30th. She does this every time . Always tacks on 2-3 more days than invited for.

It is not the amount of days that gets me..it is that she is INVITED for a certain amount of days and she has no problem adding more!! Funny how it is never cheaper for her to leave earlier! hahahahahah
