well m pretty sure its at the state? fair on july 10-13th. in the ffa division. yeah, i gave opal a bath yesterday and she loved it

but it was hard cuz u have to do it in steps. wash with special soap. rinse with water with 1/4 cup vinager per gallon, and then tablespoon hair conditioner in a bucket of luke warm water. polish comb wattles etc with olive oil and do same on feet. and beek. don get feathers oily. let dry for 18 hours .DO NOT BLOW DRY. lol.. kinda like a rescipe

I usually don't wash chickens unless they are white silkies, because it takes so much time to blowdry them afterwards and if they have normal feathers I usually end up breaking some. I do often wash their butts before the show though, nothing worst than a poopy butt! If they are a bit dirty, I usually just wipe them down with a damp cloth. Then the night before the show (so that they are inside their coop and cant get dirty again) I will scrub their feet (unless they're feather footed) with an old toothbrush and just some hand soap, I'll also scrub their combs sometimes. I have some special stick (looks and smells kind of like glue, cant remember what its called) that I put on their combs and wattles at the show, makes it nice and red and takes away all the dryness. Depending on the bird I may spray some hairspray on them and wipe them down (makes them shinier) Thats about it!
