people with house chickens

Awww, poor little thing :( Looks like she's plenty comfy on that couch, though!

A year ago, if someone told me I'd have chickens living indoors with me as pets, I'd laugh at them and think they were missing a few brain cells. Now I do the same with people who question why I do.

The thing I keep coming back to, is the fact that you can spend $2,500+ for an exotic bird that will be fragile, unbearably noisy, play favorites, potentially be unpredictable, and at some point will likely harm you or one of your other pets with that weapon of a beak.

OR

You can (in most cases) spend less than $10 on a little chicken to raise, spoil, cuddle up with, and love to your heart's content. Sure, the chickens don't speak English, but they sure seem to want and appreciate affection a lot more than a Macaw!

what kind of geese were they?
Dewlap Toulouse. They even free ranged with chicks all summer without a single issue. It's breeding season. They are very territorial during breeding season, but I had reached my limit..

Oh man! Glad she is ok. Is she going to be a permanent house resident?
No, just until she heals. We have too many indoor pets as it is, and I'm in the process of starting a family. It would be too much.

She will probably be in a few weeks until she is all healed and is not at risk of being picked at.

She thinks she's part of our family flock, and has been following us all over. It is so freaking adorable. She laid an egg in our box of paid bills too :)

What adorable little babies! Your little Serama roo is too cute. I think Tidbit would think he's quite handsome.

When ours were inside they loved hanging out on our leather couch too while "towel" bathing (so funny looking)

Tidbit has a tiny brother, too, named Andre (for Andre the Giant)

Here they are on their towel a few weeks ago. Tidbit facing the camera with Andre, and bigger sister Hercules facing away.

They are adorable! It's funny that you've gone with using big tough names for your Seramas, cause I did that as well: Meet Brutus, next to him is Sterling, his favorite buddy in the whole world:
400
Although, I'm not sure if Brutus is actually a boy... Comb says boy, but feathering looks more girlish.. Enzo seems to be having some gender issues as well. She turned 4 months old today, and decided to try and start crowing. Anyone who knows more about this than I do is urged to chime in :)
