people with house chickens

Frizzle is enjoying some walking around time. She doesn't wear diapers. They haven't worked for us so far. Either didn't fit, stay on, or made a mess on her behind. But she has been a full time house chicken in September last year. She lives in a parrot cage with a modified base. I will admit that it isn't very big for her and she could use more space but I have yet to figure out a better situation for her. In the spring I'm going to put her outside during the day somehow so she can get some sun and forge. She hasn't laid her first egg yet so I'm guessing she isn't getting enough light inside. She's a great pet and I hope someday I can give her a friend or two and a bigger area to live in.

with muff I trim her butt feathers down for her diaper. and if its to big of a diap then they will poo in top of it :/ makes a great mess.. im glad I found someone who makes them to fit custome or I would have a mess lol

@kendradillon Muffy is so cute! Does she actually like that? Whenever I try to do anything like that to my chickens they freak out.

Hey guys!

We got two more female ducks today to give Marceline a break. The girl we got them from had a bunch of chickens for sale, too. I was trying to convince my mom to let me have an inside hen too!

When we move and I get my 4 hens, I'm definitely letting them inside sometimes.

The chicks are sooo sweet! Blondie is a beautiful little gal and quite industrious as well. Welcome to our pretty frizzle gal she's got style :love
You can always call that lil runty white chicken "Miracle"? DH says "Dragon" ...lol Glad to aee ya back with us KYLEG :thumbsup

How do you let her roam the house as far as going to the bathroom? Dogs are trained to go outside, cats are litterbox trained, what do you do with her? Just clean up after her?
Hi Trx450 I don't know who you are asking.but for me I let my kids run the house with sometimes nothing and when my husband starts geting mad, I diaper them the old fashioned way with a washcloth and a safety pin. My mom taught me how to diaper dolls when i was little , same thing. Works great and costs little.

HEY HEY HEY HEY HEY!!!!!!!!!

LOOK!!!!! EGG!!!!!!

400

Polka Dot laid her first egg today since she went broody over the chicks I gave to her to raise back in October!!!!!!

Her and Phantom have been doin' the dew quite a lot lately, so I'm crossing my fingers and hoping it's fertile! I may be getting over optimistic, but I cleaned and fired up the incubator anyway :D

These two will make sickeningly gorgeous babies. You guys have no idea how long I've been waiting for this!!!! So.....

*ahem*

YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!

Im giggling because I can just hear Sunni yellin up a storm...where'd you put my nest you silly human?? My crazy Lucy goes on rants like that. Making room service requests etc. I swear she is chicken Ghandi some days talking to me.... Today I witnissed Russell making Daisy a nest in their crate for her to lay her egg. Then he stood guard while she sat and laid her sweet little egg. Hedoesn't want me to go get it either! Today Marilyn stood on my leg but needed help with balance. She didn't mind where she was standing, but loved snuggling with me more than the actual physical therapy. I made her stand in my hand too. She seems to be holding her own with eating and drinking. Loves her little nest in the livingroom so she is in the middle of everything and nice and warm. Thats the updates from my nuthouse

I feel better knowing that Sunni isn't the only little diva chicken.

I love Sunni to death, but sometimes she can be such a stinker.
