She loves it! Muffy is such a lover! I'm sad tho we r headed on vacation till Monday and cannot take her with. My amazing friend is caring for her while we r gone and I miss Muffy terribly! I havnt been apart from her sense dec 27 when muffys friend was killed

Hey everybody, just wanted to give a quick update from the Gawley ranch, (still wishing i could call it a ranch).
If anyones been following my aunts thread they know that Buckbeak has gone broody. full blown comatose broody. I'm talking WILL NOT MOVE FOR ANYTHING broody. it's actually kinda scary. she doesn't even react to things,
except strawberries, she reacted to strawberries.
she has been moved into a separate cage in our livingroom. not that she will leave her nesting box. its been a while and she hasn't gone to the bathroom at all, like over 24 hours, is this ok for her situation?
It is soo weird, i thought i wanted her to be broody but i keep imagining a month of coma-chicken. she has an egg under her and was in Momma attack mode earlier
life keeps getting stranger. But were winging it!

That makes me feel better, i am glad she is "normal" Normal among all Zombie-hen kind.Don't worry, she'll get up to eat and use the bathroom when she feels it is okay to leave the nest. I used to have a Buff Orp that would go 24-30 hours without getting up once when she was broody. I think I read somewhere that their digestive track slows down when they brood.I wouldn't worry about her too much. Broody hens can be quite a scare if you arent used to that behavior in a chicken, but what your hen has been doing is pretty normal.
Well guys, I am afraid Marilyn isnt doing well at all. She will lay on one side or the other with her legs straight out, sleeping most of the time. I have had to tube feed her most of the day. What I feed her comes out pretty much undigested, she hasnt chatted in over a week and today I held her and she is wasting away. I am losing her after fighting for over 2 weeks. My other chickens are all fine. I have cried more than once today. I just want her to pass away in the night or while she is asleep. I love her and I am really sad tonight
