People with intense winters: Runs + Snow Load?

Have you ever had any issues with the straw and them getting impacted crops? We currently use pine shavings so I am thinking of using that over straw.

Never had issues with either straw or pine bedding. I put straw down in the run because my girls won't walk on snow. And I use pine shavings in the coop and nest boxes
