"Percy" was named after the character in the Harry Potter books. He is a brightly colored bantam Easter egger cockerel with a gorgeous full beard and muffs. He was hatched in late August 2010 and I have handled him every day since he was a chick so he is pretty tame. He has occasionally been brought into the house to sit on my lap while I watch tv or work on the computer.
For those interested in genetics, Percy is carrying at least one copy of a dominant color gene called "Db" which is a black restrictor. He is also carrying one copy of the recessive gene "ig" for lemon. He is probably split for e+/eWh.
He just started crowing and I can't keep roosters so I need to find him a good home. Percy is a bantam but he's a decent size and has been perfectly hardy this winter in an unheated coop in the snowy cold midwest.
If you or someone you know can give Percy a home please PM me! I have several other cockerels I will be listing shortly but Percy is my only Easter egger. Thanks!
I want to add that currently Percy shares a coop with standard and bantam hens and chicks and a bunch of other cockerels and he gets along with everybody.
