This thing is baad. By no means am I a salesman but it works every time. I was having a hard time getting decent hard boiled eggs, as they are always so fresh. I highly recommend one. 15 minutes and it's done. The only problem is it doesn't shut off by itself, so you have to wait for the beeps. Or just set the alarm on your phone if you need to go do something else. P

That's kinda neat.

I just use a little metal steamer insert that goes into a regular saucepan. Steam eggs for 20 minutes and then plunge into ICE cold water until cooled thorougly. Eggs peel easily even if laid that day! Finally found a method that works with FRESH eggs. I've been telling everyone about it! No longer have to wait until fresh eggs aren't fresh anymore to hard cook them. Kinda defeats the purpose of raising your own chickens for fresh eggs. Now I can eat FRESH hard cooked eggs! Works with a bamboo steamer too that you put in your wok.

Do you put the eggs in first and then turn on the heat or do you wait for the water to boil first? I may try steaming them now that I have a better steamer basket. Do you ever have problems with them cracking?

I think I've done it both ways and been okay. Had one the other day crack/split a bit but that's all. Didn't make a mess or harm anything. Just did a dozen over the weekend to try my hand at pickling eggs. Will see how those turn out soon.
Have fun! Let me know how yours turn out. I've had a few kinda be hard to peel but nothing like they ever were when I tried to boil them. It is so exciting to be able to eat my FRESH eggs hard cooked now. They're great as a breakfast on the run, snack at work, egg salad, etc.
