Perforated Eardrum...Don't Blow Your Nose!

Ever since I got hit by lightening, my hearing is bad... I got an eustachian tube infection, and tried that neti pot thing? Worst Idea of my LIFE! My brain was full of water, and my ears were KILLING me, and my nose felt like I'd tried to drown in the pool. Ears are delicate, easily damaged things.

Hey RP. I did same thing 1997. Only when mine popped, it caused an extreme case of vertigo. I remember blowing and then suddenly everything in front of me became fragmented. The floor was on the ceiling, the window was on the floor....it was awful. I truly thought I was having an aneurism. All I could do was rely on gravity and let myself fall even though I couldnt 'see' the floor.

Doc said I had perforated the ED and it would heal up. Well....12 years later, I am still a victim of vertigo. Apparently my ear never healed correctly and my fluid does not stay balanced.

2 weeks ago, the pressure built up on its own and when I was in the kitchen, the whole fragmented thing happened again and I ended up in the back of an ambulance when we werent sure if I was injured when I fell to the floor.

Be sure to take your perforated drum seriously...make your doc pay attention. Everytime you perforate them, a little bit of scar tissue grows and that can cause lots more probs down the road.

(hugs)
