Permanent Things for Chickens to Do?

@bychicken1, when I pull weeds, I put them in a bucket. When I'm done, I empty the bucket in the chickens' run. They love it! They scratch through it and eat green bits and any bugs that might be in there. They got a cartful today. Hours and hours of entertainment.
Mine follow me around the yard when I pull weeds... My mom really enjoys pulling my weeds too when she comes for a visit.

They don't have a dust bath, we tried but one chicken kept eating the sand :D

I'll put one in if I can stop them from eating the sand
Chickens really need a dust bathing area - it's how they stay clean, get rid of bugs on their skin, cool off in summer, and I think it makes them happy. A good medium to use is plain peat moss, wherever they sell potting soil for plants, just make sure it does not contain fertilizer.

Thanks everybody! Here's what I will probably do: (I'll wait some time between each thing, of course)

a) add a few more perches to the coop
b) maybe put in some straw or leaves that I rake...
c) create a chicken swing
d) create grazing frames or sprouts.
Why wait? Let them get used to the new things all at once, rather than keep shaking up their world every time they get used to something.
