I have 5 adult chickens with mites or lice I believe (not sure which I can’t see anything but we’ve got feather loss going). Everyone is laying and acting normal. I treated with permethrin 10 (mixed per instructions sprayed under both wings, neck and butt), cleaned coops and sprayed the coop and new bedding. I have a ton of pullets in another pen. I treated their coop after changing their bedding but I didn’t spray them directly. I wasn’t sure if I should. Also do I need to retreat this week? One of the hens seems to have lost more feathers on her head no other symptoms this week for anyone else. I also left out DE for them to dust bathe (I know this is controversial but I have it already and I only used it for the big guys). Thanks for reading all this!

Spray every single bird and coop weekly for no less than 3 weeks/3 treatments. Permethrin is safe for all ages.

Get rid of the bugs...which ever kind they are because they can literally suck the life right out of the birds and kill them.

That’s what I was hoping to do. I was hoping I picked a good med and wanted to do it right

Permethrin is safe for humans too.
Just not bees and I wouldn't soak a cat in it either.

I use it in my yard, on my dogs and horses and I've been know to spray it on myself too.

These are my favorites.
I've never actually used the dust I just bought it a long time ago and it's been sitting there.
And much prefer to use the sprays.
