Hello,
I have a chicken I got from someone who is having terrible discharge. So far, she has received monistat cream orally and to the vent for 10 days, with no relief. The vet put her on nystatin twice a day and she is on day 9. This is not getting better. I have given her baths. She has probiotics in her water. She is quarantined in a greenhouse right now. She eats, drinks, walks around, lays an egg every day almost and her poop looks pretty normal. Anyone have any suggestions?

Sorry that your little hen is going through this.
Did you give her an epsom salt bath? It helps.
There might be a deeper issue here that is why the treatment so far did not work.

I am tagging BYC Eductors that might be online to assist you.

I wish all will be fixed for your hen.❤️

Yes I have done an epsom salt bath and I am using barrier cream wipes to help protect her poor skin. Thank you!

Does she has crop issue?

I am not a chicken expert, it is my personal experience that I am base on. From the look of her poop, there is no indication that she is not well.

What do you feed her?...it might has something to do with her feed or treats.

I treat my chicken with crop issue by epsom salt flush, that is giving it to them orally. It flushes out whatever and sometime it only take a day to all sorted, but other time it can take a few days. If the crop still not clear, there is something else very serious.

With my flock the crop issue comes with vent glee, because I failed to noticed the crop issue earlier.

Her crop seems fine. It is empty every morning and she is eating fine and acting normal. We are feeding her layer feed and some greens and worms.

It is a mystery indeed.
The educators can shred more light on what is going on and the treatment.

Just take care that flies are not attaching to her vent, they could lay eggs and it will be fatal if those eggs hatched inside her.

We have lot of flies over here in our weather.
