Personality change?

Sticking them in dog crates works for both species. :lau
:lau so bad!
No worries, I thought you were just toying with my emotions!
Yes, my six girls are pets and will live out their lives here as long as life allows. Frankly, I don't care if they lay another damn egg---they give my so much joy and the eggs are secondary.
Damn, my dogs give me NOTHING and I love them to smithereens---at least my chickens give me eggs!
I'm so sorry you thought I was toying with your emotions. I would never do something like that.:hugs
We kid around a lot here but always have the best intentions.:love

Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, and the happiest of whatever you choose to celebrate!

Not sure if your location allows it but a rooster brings peace with your girls. Anytime my girls have a dispute my rooster quickly gets between them and ends the drama. I know some people don't want a rooster but I really enjoy having a rooster but I also hatch some of my eggs during the summer.
Thinking about a rooster but have heard so many horror stories. They are beautiful and would complete my little flock but the thought of having a (possibly) horrible rooster scares me.
I can have roosters.....legally.
I must add that I was brutally attacked by a rooster at my daughter's place years ago and that had me swearing off roosters forever. The little turd went after me and I beat it off with my camera.
Ahhh, memories, lol.

Their demeanor definitely changes at POL due to hormone changes.
Not that I'd liken or correlate it to human hormone issues,
unless it's of the human observer, haha!
POL is a huge increase in hormone release, what makes the eggs come, so agitation is common.
Pecking order will go thru changes too....course that can be ever-changing.

The lowest in the pecking order run a few feet and all is fine. No one girl beats the heck out of the other. No bloodshed but really...the meanness is disturbing.
The 'all is fine' part is what to pay attention to....the 'meanness' part is just anthropomorpization. They don't think it's 'mean', just part of their world.
