Pesky raccoon!

I have a secure coop for my birds and a bunny in a secure hutch...but will a raccoon eat a bunny? You think they could unlock latch in coop? Ahhhh I hate this! Always worrying about my babies!

depends on the latch. they are smart rascals i was fishing late evening last year at a state park. i watched one open a trashcan. the trashcan was mounted to a post. and was the type you have to unscrew the lid prob 5-6 times before it comes off. Took that rascal about a minute to turn and open it.

Well I'm pretty sure they will eat a bunny. And yes they are very smart.

Your best bet it to trap it and the others that are with it. Then dispose of it in a hole, do not relocate. They can and will kill any and all of your birds and probably a bunny.

Raccoons do not "move on", they live next door. Plan to have Ft. Knox protection for your birds and rabbits, or have disasters. Also, trap and shoot those coons! Mary

Haha! Everyone is all locked up and snug in their beds! Thanks for advice! Haven't seen the coon since but I know he's around!
