Pesky Sparrows

I seem to be raising a huge flock of english sparrows, unwillingly of course. I keep the feeders inside, but one wall of my interior is just 2x4 fence mesh, and they come in by the dozens every time my birds make feeding noises, and from the looks of the droppings, plenty of early morning hours before I go out as well. I try to sweep up their droppings and put into the trash to minimize contanimation, but it's everywhere. What advice can you give me?

They sell traps for them but it might just be easier to add smaller mesh wire along that wall.

sparrow traps work great!! just keep an eye on it as it catches finches and other local native birds too. The elevator traps are hands down the best.

Would bird netting work there? The kind used to drape fruit trees.
