My pet geese have been behaving differently this past week. They are spending less time on the water and much more time foraging around. They have been venturing further from their pond and more around the yard. The ducks follow the geese but maintain a much closer distance to the pond, kind of in between.
This has only started happening in the last week. Environment Canada is predicting snow before Halloween (which is typical) but a colder winter. Do my geese know something I don't? Are they accurately predicting a change in the weater by eating as much grass as possible because very soon it will be all covered up? Or are they just becoming more independant (they are 5 months old).
How does your flock behave with weather changes or before winter?
Thanks!!
