Pet Peeves

Been "enhancing" my hair color and playing around with dyes, frostings or Hennas since I was 16. My mom dyed her hair, so it was women's beauty day in our bathroom, we'd do the green clay face mask, too! It is fun!

I have to share the funniest thing happened though. While I was going through chemo and bald, I had a nice wig. You never have a bad hair day with a wig! Anyway, when you go through chemo you also get these horrible hot flashes. I mean it is like a sudden wave of sweat & nausea suddenly wash over you. It's like you're standing in front of a 500ﾟoven and somebody opened the oven door. I happened to be riding passenger in a car, when one of these hot flashes hit me like like a tidal wave. I grabbed that wig & the head sock off my head, and started fanning air, using the wig to do so. I happened to glance over at the car next to us, as we were stopped at a red light. The look of shock on their faces was priceless, absolutely hilarious, I never laughed so hard my life! I guess it's not everyday you see somebody literally rip the hair off their head and use it as a fan.

Oh gosh, you're hysterical..my mom did the exact thing while going through chemo..she had gone to church (was coming home). She said the wig was itchy, someone had glanced into the car as she whipped her wig off..she said it was funny. I am sorry you had to go through chemo

Yep the runny nosed kids are my wife's pet peeve too...

Proboscis miners...my niece and nephews. My mom said," stop it" to my nephew..he was like..I like it

Humor helped immensely, for sure. It's not an easy treatment. Many don't fare out so well, my mom didn't. I'm sorry to hear your mom had chemo.

Awww so sorry!!! I mean no disrespect or offense, just trying to contribute.
It's usually these young dudes doing it around here & even crazier, they often drive motorcycles & mopeds...which reminds me of another that makes me cringe...improper motorcycle attire. Road rash on bare skin...yikes.

I notice that Nate Burleson wears some pretty wild socks on CBS Mornings. I just laugh. To each their own style, I guess! He doesn't lack confidence anyway!

They do itch! There's a thing to wear under wigs, I called them head socks. One was like Regular pantyhose Material and the other was like stretchy fish net net Hosiery. They were supposed to make the wig less itchy on your scalp. When you have a hot Flash, I don't care what you're wearing, You are downright uncomfortable and that wig is coming off no matter where you are!

One more...in the winter, people wearing shorts & sandals...with socks.
Big parka, bundled up from the waist up, but bare legs & summer sandals...with goofy socks?
Surprisingly, I see it often...I guess I missed that fashion tip when it came out.

Oh golly! Lol. My sandals don't go between my toes. Yeah, that's pretty funky. I would laugh. Inside, of course.

My nana passed in August. It was brain cancer..she had to have chemo just to help with the pain. I'm sorry about your mom

I do have to admit I bought this pair of socks, and the only way to let others truly appreciate it is to roll up pant legs and if someone asked, I briefly took my shoes off. I did that at work one Halloween...complete with a chicken hat. Everyone smiled.
I guess I would actually love socks with sandals if more wore interesting socks.
