And in defense of newbies:

I call my birds by their colors/appearances so folks can picture them. Plus, it's how I refer to them when differentiating between them. I have 2 orpingtons: a buff and a lavender. And I have 2 silkies: a black one and a splash. If I'm talking about them to someone, they won't know which birds I say, "Dandelion is broody again" or "Violet is molting."

Leaving socks attached to pants. They won't wash or dry properly.

When you say attached, do you mean if someone would take off their pants and slide their socks off at the same time so the socks get stuck in the pant legs?

When people comment on your venting... like for instance 'UGH vacuuming up this dog hair 1000 times a day is really annoying'..."Well she IS a dog!"
