Is this a peeve or is it possible that Isadora has opened a Dominos as a side gig?? :idunno

What started as a nice trip to TSC for a variety of things turned sour once I saw they were remodeling. A real Charlie Foxtrot. Couldn't get down aisles, couldn't find anything. FUBAR. Feed and flakes then I left
My Peavey Mart (used to be a TSC) and my lumber store are doing the same thing. The lumber store is worse because they are ripping up the flooring at the same time. I wish they would hire a good night crew to do this. I just want some 2" bolts - arrgghh.

Sorry guys, got to derail the thread for a moment:
let it dry and it should rub off. What kind of paint are you working with? I may have an alternate suggestion to masking fluid.
Apologies for the late response; got busy and lost this post.

It was acrylics on wood. I ended up throwing it (and the masking fluid) out as the fluid didn't set properly. It left a nasty residue that just wouldn't dry (or peel, for that matter.) No big deal... the wood was actually just a board left over from a childhood craft. I thought I'd make a small painting out of it.

Super curious to know what your alternative is, though! I don't think I'll be using this again.

I use Golden gel matte or gloss medium instead of masking fluid. Super clean transitions and you can paint right over it with no issue if you need to. If you're masking a large area, paper and tape to the edges, then use the gel medium to seal the tape edges and voila!

I do a lot of this when I'm doing abstracts or masking planets into my paintings. I'll cut out a stencil mask in vinyl, seal the edge with matte gel medium, paint in around it, and peel the mask. Like this.

Another example, this was all masks and gel to protect it.

an 8 oz jar of the gel medium is about 12 bucks and mine typically last a year.
