Pet quail

Has anyone ever kept a quail indoors as a pet? I have had three before and they make the sweetest pets.

Yep I have 5 coturnix in the house....but they're only in here for the winter, they'll be back out in the spring with the rest of the flock. I keep them in door sin the winter (a few) to keep some egg production going. I have 3 babies as well from them well 2 from them and one from a swap egg

Do most people who raise quail raise them for the meat?

Never mind, I just saw the post for processing quail. It seems like it takes a lot of raising to get one meal.

I keep button quail as pets I would think eating them would be more work then the food you would get buttons are every small. I h also keep a pair of Japanese quail as pets they where a rescue they are very sweet and easy to handle​
