I am so surprised Pete may actually be a Penelope. Is there any other pictures I can take of him/her to be absolutely positive of the gender?
I clearly don't know much about peafowl, but I certainly want to learn.

Yes my females love to strut all the time, It has alot of coloring, like a male, pehaps when he was young, other birds picked his crown badly, like bald and bloody, than they may never grow back, would need a real close up to tell for sure which sex it is.

Thank for the two additional pictures. Now I’m sure my first impression regarding the sex was wrong. It is an approx.. 1 year old spalding male.

Do females show their feather like this ??? I was sure he was male because of the way he struts.

Yes females will, but it looks a little different. I only know this because I saw our hen do it. But this one looks like a male because of the color.
