Petting

All of mine like to be held close then I stroke their head in the direction of their feathers with my index and middle fingers, one finger on each side of their comb. Sometimes they close their eyes and appear to sleep. All of my chickens relax with this.

I had one barred rock that would follow my around complaining until I would sit down, she would hop in my lap and I would rub her neck around the base of her skull and chest. She was like a puppy.

I also hold them either on my chest on in the crook of my elbow; they appear to like it there.
