Pheasant chick with misshapen leg

I have a red golden pheasant chick with a deformed left leg. It has been that way since it hatched. It's not splayed leg, but it looks like a hatch defect. It actually looks like the lower leg is dislocated. The toes on the right leg do not work either. I was going to cull this chick but my wife said no. It eats and drinks normally. It's a quick little bird for a one-legged chick. Any suggestions with the exception of euthanization would be appreciated.

They usually die anyways.Like look fine eating and drinking and then they die.

I don't know. It's still kicking. The vet recommended placing it on soft flannel so it doesn't get sores. She told me the problem begins at the hip, and the right leg isn't completely normal either. The vet also told me to check the chick's legs as soon as they hatch. If there are any problems to bring it down right away and they can usually do something for it. .It has begun using its left wing to compensate for the leg. I don't know how long it will live but if it starts having difficulty (weight loss, etc) then we will have to reassess the issue. RIght now it has good weight, only a couple grams less than a chick that hatched two days before it.
