I wonder if pheasant X jungle fowl would be more likely to turn up fertile offspring.
Maybe next year, if I can source the birds this year, I’ll be able to try it out.

Using a male is supposed to be the best way to get fertile hybrids. If you put a chicken rooster over pheasant hens you’ll get way more hybrids though.I have a couple questions.
First, why do you always use a pheasant as the father? Is the cross more likely to be successful than with a pheasant mother?
Second, how did the AI attempt go with the silver pheasants? I read your thread about them but there was no update.
I want to try milking a Cornish X rooster to inseminate my smaller hens.
