Just wondering if anyone has tried the float test on pheasant eggs? Everything I found on here shows it with a chicken egg, and shows that the egg floats on it's side. When I tried it with my pheasant eggs that haven't hatched the pointy side sunk, while just the air sac stuck above the water. Any input on this would be appreciated!

Well of course the air sack is going to float. It's an air sack.I have never tried the float test.I usually use a flashlight to be if the egg is clear or solid. How old are your eggs?Pheasant eggs are viable for 15 days and it drops drastically after that.
In N.H.,Tony.

They are 26 days currently, I have already candled the eggs and there are still veins and the eggs definitely have chicks in them but no movement. I was doing the float test to find out if they are still alive...

All the Ruff pheasant eggs I have ever incubateded, pipped on day 21 and hatched day 22. Temp 100°F humidity 43% during incubation.
Never have done a float test, either!
