Pheasant habitat

What should I plant for my pheasant habitat and also when should I start planting I have a 100 pheasant and I am up in Wisconsin ?

Welcome to BYC! Glad you joined the flock! I'm not entirely sure how accurate my answer may be because it's mainly an educated guess. On my property I notice that the Ring neck Pheasants love the alfalfa and rye grass pastures. Based on peafowl, close relative to the pheasant, they love grass, especially when it gets to seed. They won't touch the grass until it gets to seed and then they go crazy for it. It's like candy for them.
