Pheasant in garden

Wild pheasants will lay an egg in any nest it finds when the breeding season begins, they will later on find there own spot to make a nest and then will lay a clutch to hatch.
Depending on your location, if your in the North country, I doubt this hen has started to lay. That's why I'm interested to see the nest and the eggs....could be chicken eggs or ? 21eggs is alot for her to have laid, and most likely if it was her nest it would have 6 to 10 eggs instead.
Waiting on pics! :pop

umm..
1. We live in the midlands, northamptonshire
2. Why would a pheasant be sitting on a batch of chicken eggs.
3. I have chickens that live in the same garden and do know what their eggs look like.
4. On google it says that pheasants eggs are half the size of chicken eggs and olive green, which is excatly what these are. but will send pics tomorrow

Can you get a better pic of the hen? Looks like a ring necked hen but her iris is yellowish, lighter color than a ring necked hen will have, most have dark brown. Could be a cross or another species entirely.....judging by the eggs I suspect there are at least two different hens laying in that nest!

Some of them should have hatched by now! Maybe they're not fertile? You could steal a couple and candle them or break them open to see if they are fertile.
