At My Desk!
I apologize if this has been asked many times before. From what I have been reading, pheasants need a fenced enclosure otherwise they will fly or wander off. Are there ANY pheasants that can free range with chickens and will return to the coop at night to roost if they are raised with chickens? I am fortunate in that I do not have a problem with predators so they would be safe.

All pheasants will fly away given a chance.

Best to keep them in a secure pen.

You hear the rear story of somone having an odd silver pheasant free ranging .

Chances are very very slim for them to stay around, let alone get them in at night

Thank you for answering my questions. It seems someone will always come along and claim that it is possible but I do not want to spend money and time hatching pheasant chicks only to have them take off on me. Building a large enclosure is not practical for me and the pheasants I have seen in small pens pace back and forth constantly.

well they all need to have a pen with a top over it, but I have heard of people that had silvers in with there chickens, and also blue eared pheasant I've heard can be coop trained.
