Pheasant! ***PICS***more pics!! even more pics on page 2. size pg 3

Do any of you think that if i had a broody hen hatch out some pheasant eggs that they would be so flighty still ??
And then maybe they would free range like a chicken and then come in at night ??

I am sure there are some pheasant experts out here that know about that. But I would say no because they are wild game birds that have a wild instinct. I am going to keep some in a run and eventually the will be used to humans and start to not be scared so its possible. When you release pheasant they stay within the initial area that you release them. I am sure that if you put feeders and waterers out for adult pheasant they would come back and you would be able to enjoy them.

Yes mine slept like that and many other ways lol. If you let a broody hen hatch the pheasants I would be willing to bet they would be just as flighty as ones raised by a human. But if you spend lots and I mean LOTS of time handling the pheasants when they are young you might be able to tame them down some.
Good Luck again with them man and looking forward to watching them grow!

I would let them have as much room as possible. I would gladly do an egg trade with you next year. Just let me know

Also you can handle them just be careful. They are delicate but I handled mine and never had any die. So im not sure what that guy was talking about.
Keep us updated on how they do!

I did not have any die. Didnt do anything special for them either. I have had really good luck with gamebirds for some odd reason....they are easy to hatch...raise...and care for if you do just that...CARE. Many people make them sound really hard but with a little research and lots of time they are easier than chickens...well at least to me.
