I have never raised pheasants but was considering getting a couple just for pets. I have chickens and quail. I recently had to get rid of most of my coturnix quail because they were too noisy at night. Are pheasants noisy? and if so are they noisy at night?

My pheasants sleep at night

In the morning however, during the breeding season, is a different story. I have LA's, RG and YG and the males do tend to make a loud, shrill noise during the breeding season. Often in the early morning, late morning and again at dusk. The rest of the year they are generally quiet. Hens will make sounds but they not overly loud and usually only when they see something out of the ordinary or are alarmed for any reason. What types pf pheasants are you considering? Some are more vocal than others...

Hello, I Have Black Mutant Red Golden And Ringnecks And Mutant. Thay Are Quite Compared To Chickens.

No, My Ringnecks Call Mostly In The Morning And Late Afternoon. This Is Mostly A Locator Call.Thay Will Make A Sound That Kinda Sounds Like A Cat Purring. But Its So Low If You Are More Then 10 Feet Away You Cant Hardly Here It.

I wasn't sure on the type of pheasants, I was thinking ringneck and/or lady amherst. I just want a couple, but my aviary isn't that big (10'x10'). I am still not sure if I am going to get any though.
