Pheasants and guineas

I think my mom like to feed my animal addiction. Her neighbor is giving her fertile ringneck eggs for me this week . My 21 yr old SN son really wants pheasants so I’m trying to figure out how to make it happen. I think I can save enough money on my duck pens to manage the pheasant pens but doing that leaves my guineas without a coop. Can I put the guineas in the pheasant pen at night? I’m planning 8’ for the pheasant pen, so that would work for mounting roosts for the guineas if they can co-exist at night.

8’ tall, 25-30’ long and 8-16’ wide. I know that’s a variation and that they need 15? sq ft each. I don’t know how many eggs I’m getting, but I will build for 100% hatch. (I know 100% is unlikely)

8x24 is 192 sq ft which should fit 12 pheasants. I don’t plan to have 12, definitely not long term. I *could* connect it to a 30’ shed that’s on cement blocks, which would give them more floor space, shelter, and save me wire, but...no one is keen on crawling under the shed to fetch eggs next spring . My son lives in that shed (shabin, man cave, whatever you want to call it), but I’m not sure how I would attach the pen to the shed, I don’t want to drill into it. I could just make an open frame and shove it against it, maybe? Fencing around the shed wouldn’t be an issue because it has wood underneath around the perimeter. Anyway, if I did include under the shed, that would give them another 360 sq ft of floor space and I would make the pen 30’ long to fit the shed. Minus maybe 10 sq ft so I could block off where the power and cable go in.

Another question I am sure is dumb. If I were to run electric fencing at 6” and ?? and 30” high around the whole thing (except the shed, I think it’s closest point to the ground is about 18”, I would not mount wire above the wood on it), could I use chicken wire? (If not I’ll be using 1/4” HC for the sides and apron, idk for the top yet)

Guineas and pheasants don't mix, both can be very aggressive, especially during breeding season. They each should have their own pens.

Thanks! So, huge surprise, we're getting a pair of actual pheasants Friday, as well as fertile eggs No way will I have their pen built within the next two weeks, so! Help! They are ringnecks, breeding pair...would they be ok in a 4x8'x2' high pen for a few weeks? (I've since read they need 25 sq ft each, that's only 32 sq ft.) Or, (NOT what I want to do, because then I lose fertile eggs), could I put them each in a pen like that? What's the smallest/cheapest/quickest pen that would last a few weeks until I have time to build the aviary?

@007Sean, can I put the guinea pen adjoining the pheasant pen or is that bad? Reading that pheasants shouldn’t be near chickens so thought I better check. Obviously I will quarantine the pheasants for a month away from the other birds. (Currently have ducklings, goslings, keets, and chicken chicks, quail eggs going in the incubator this weekend.)

If your biosecurity procedures are such that you won't cross contaminate, I don't think guineas next to the pheasant pen will result in any problems.
