we make it all the time.. i buy top round steak and slice it as thin as you can.. some what frozen helps with this.. i saute' meat with onions, salt and heavy black pepper in a little oil.. you can add green peppers, mushrooms , any veggies you like.. after meat is cooked top with cheese... velveta, provolone, american,, whatever cheese you prefer... most use velveta, heat till melted and put into roll...

Yep get a cheap round steak.
Put it in the freezer until about half frozen, then slice really thin - before cooking.
1 Green bell pepper sliced thin
1 white onion sliced thin
3 or 4 tablespoons of sliced pickled jalepenos (that one is an out west addition leave it out if you dont like hot n spicy)
1 garlic clove diced
salt and pepper
oil
PROVOLONE CHEESE - sliced into strips

Get a BIG fry pan, you can even use a big pot if you aren't really used to cooking and flipping food around.
heat a few spoonfulls of oil over medium high
add everything but the cheese
stir, chop, and flip - you'll get the hang of it
as it is almost done, toss in the cheese with the meat/vegis and juices. Keep stirring and flipping for another minute or two until cheese is melty goodness.
put on hoagie rolls - some people like mayo on them - we don't
Let me know how you like it!

My husband is a mechanic and he and the guys in the shop have huge appetites. I whipped this up for them the other day, they thought they were in heaven. The good thing about it is it only takes about 15 minutes to make.

I make it with venison

buy any meat just slice, and lightly season and grill up some onions and peppers, or you can do it on the quick and buy rostbeef sliced really thin and sautee that instead of the sliced fresh beef or deer

then its just a matter of the right hot sauce
