So here are the new 3 week old drop-off Easter ducklings, hanging out on the grass getting a feel for the place...

(I don't know what the dark ones are, but am assuming the white one is a Pekin?)

You AWFUL RABBIT!!

I had to catch the rabbits and put them up, they were being awful, but hilarious! First time they were on grass too. They had a blast!

I was hoping for Cayuga, but are their babies brown? It's a chocolate brown, feet and all. I think the Blue Swedish is starting to sound drakish!

Thanks all, I can't get over how awesome these rabbits are. Well, the one anyways. She's a Flemish crossed with something else, either a Californian or New Zealand. The other that's pure Flemish isn't near as... social and curious. But this one, she's a riot. She had learned to escape the cage and come find me, so I had to make alterations. She's very brave, will kiss the dogs through the cage wire. Always on her back legs looking around.

I popped into the house briefly and when I came through the gate, both of them ran to me, her in the lead. I've never had rabbits actively seeking me out or seemingly WANTING to be pets.

Now I just need to convince these new ducklings that I'm safe and their new "momma". They don't trust me yet.

Oh it was funny, last evening I set the chickens out too with them, and one black hen, who is pretty curious, was following them around trying to figure out what the heck they were eating out of the mud. She was totally intrigued! She got bored and left, and the ducklings followed her, which made her wig out and run, and the ducklings ran faster to keep up, it was priceless! The ducklings really want to be part of the chicken flock, but the chickens aren't too sure about it. They'll go and scope them out in groups of two or three, and leave, with the ducklings trailing behind. It's SO amusing to watch!
