Hello we are hoping to add a handful of button quail to our family in a week

...if the hatch goes well, and the brooder age goes well....

THEN they are moving outside in hopefully a large walk in habitat...do you have any suggestions or ideas to execute this in a timely manner?

I REALLY look forward to any help!!!!!

I don't really have any pictures

but i'd say sand or peagravel areas, and soil areas with plenty of palmpus grasses and bushes (black berry bushes would be great for buttons but for a person walking through them...OUCH lol) some laying down branches (as buttons cant perch but the roos most deffiantly would enjoy standing on them to crow)!

I will have to get some pics of my pen later for you. Basically, I have a 7 by 7 house for them and a 7 by 8 flight pen covered in aviary netting.

I have to run to a few places this AM but when I get back later, i will take some pics and post them for you to see.

hello, im in the process of biuling one, its not big and its certanly not a flight pen, its 4x8 with a 4 foot square house, im using it for 10 coturnix quail, right now i have a sea green juniper, a few hostas, i planted some beans so they can creep up the wire, i also added some mondo grass for cover, i also cut large plant post in ahlf for some more cover. im looking for clover seed to plant in there too. ill get pics when everything is done and grown in.

Ours is 5'x8' and is 5'6" tall and the inside is 3' wide. We have lots of tall grass, plants and sticks as well as plant pots out there for them to hide in. We also have mesh under the roof so if they fly they don't break their necks. Their favorite thinf is the bale of hay. The boys try to get to the highest point and see who can crow the loudest. We put terracotta pots where the sun hits first thing in the morning so they warm up fast and the birds all cuddle up to them. I did the same thing in my brooder.
Edited to say this koop and run only cost me $8.00 to build
