PIC HEAVY My neighbors rooster... What is he?

Thanks for all of the replies.

I guess I will just let him continue to hang out. I have no idea where he roosts. He will probably enentually end up being a meal for a fox or raccoon. I have had that problem in the past. This summer I caught at a dozen raccoons and hauled them to the next county. My neighbor has come over and shot several coons and 2 possum. We have seen a fox in the neighborhood but have not gotten him yet.

My daughter who is a wildlife biologist tells me that raccoons are territorial, and if you remove one, another one will move into the territory to take up the slack. She says it is counterproductive to kill or relocate raccoons because of this. I don't know what you are supposed to do about them if they are preying on the chickens, though.

The first six were a mother and her 5 babies. We caught one baby at at time. They showed up on our deck everynight at about 7 pm. The rest Maybe you are right about. We have not seen a coon in about a month and we have not seen a possum in a week.
